Timber processing and wood products

Baylogics has been the exclusive electrical contractor and service provider for Waipapa Pine Sawmill for over twenty years, with Fletcher Building taking ownership in 2022.

Baylogics has been integral to the expansion of the site, designing and implementing the automation and control systems for two of the site’s main machine centres, the Dry Mill and the Pellet Plant.

Waipapa Pine operates 24/7 so as a key client we provide 24hr/7day support and on-site staff from Monday to Friday.

Regional fresh water and wastewater treatment and reticulation

The Far North District Council’s Water and Wastewater infrastructure is managed by Ventia (Far North Waters Alliance). Since 2004 Baylogics has provided a range of electrical support’s including: remote pump station full motor control cabinet replacements, remote terminal unit and variable speed drive upgrades through to main treatment plants PLC replacements.

Baylogics provides on going maintenance to Ventia and as a key client also a on call 24hr/7day support service.

Top Energy – Ngawha Geothermal Power Generation Plant

Top Energy has engaged Baylogics annually since 2020 to assist their technicians with their Safety Critical Element testing requirements across the four Ormat Energy Convertors at their geothermal power plant.

Baylogics has provided upgrades also for several intrinsically safe high density IECEx junction enclosures across the site.

Fruit and food processing and packaging

Baylogics has had a working relationship with Seeka, New Zealand’s largest kiwifruit producer, since 2018. With extensive expansions, process improvements and large investment in automation across both Seeka’s post-harvest packhouses in Kerikeri, Baylogics has provided electrical project management and installation services and continues to provide ongoing maintenance.  

Seeka operates 24/7 when in peak season so as a key client we provide a 24hr/7day support service.

Large scale horticultural water harvesting, irrigation, fertigation and hydro power generation

In 2024 Te Tai Tokerau Water Trust has completed construction of a 750,000 cubic meter Matawii reservoir near Kaikohe, a 3.3 million cubic metre Te Waihekeora Reservoir in Kaipara and nearing completion of the Otawere Reservoir at Waimate North. A 100-year plan with an investment in the localities to provide water harvesting for agricultural and horticultural growth in Northland.

Baylogics has been the exclusive electrical systems installer and integrator providing control of six pump stations for water harvesting and reticulation, with six PLC’s networked through a cloud-based server and over 1.2MW of installed ABB Variable Speed Drives. This included the installation of field devices radio linked with Harvest ITU’s to aid monitoring the integrity of the various dam walls.

Kerikeri Irrigation Company

Kerikeri Irrigation offers both commercial and non-commercial water supply to the greater Kerikeri region with Baylogics being their preferred electrical contractor for the last 20 years. Baylogics services include providing electrical design, installation of plant upgrades and ongoing maintenance.

Kerikeri Irrigation’s infrastructure consists of approximately 12 million cubic meters of water storage in two dams with their associated pump houses and reticulation pumps stations all with remote accessed PLC’s through a common cloud server.

Kerikeri Irrigation and Baylogics recently repurposed a plant hydro turbine into a grid connected micro hydro power generator, providing up to 60kw 3ph back into the grid via an ABB regenerative drive and associated grid connect controls.

Far North Horticultural Growth

With the continual growth of horticulture in the Far North, Baylogics has an ongoing relationship with multiple large-scale orchards focusing on the automated control of water harvesting, irrigation, fertigation and remote monitoring. Many of these orchards also utilize weather stations and water consent monitoring using Harvest products in which Baylogics is an installer and reseller partner.

Solar Generation Solutions

A long-standing relationship with the Department of Conservation Kaitaia operation which has seen Baylogics be an integral part of designing, installation and the ongoing maintenance of off grid solar solutions to service the Cape Reinga amenities block and Maitai Bay camping sites.

Baylogics is the Bay of Islands electrical engineering firm for electrotechnology solutions using innovation and the latest technology.
